In May 2021, I earned both a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction: Concentration Instructional Design & Technology (IDT) and an E-Learning Graduate Certificate at George Mason University. During my studies, I had been a Graduate Research Assistant for the Design Thinking Minor and Project E-Ignite (a Jacob K. Javits federally funded grant that seeks to identify culturally and economically diverse students for gifted coursework through problem-based learning).
I am comfortable in taking a project from ambiguity to a desired outcome. In my career as a teacher, project manager, and library director, I have developed a user-center approach in reaching objectives. My goal is to combine my instructional design and e-learning studies with demonstrated leadership, team-building, project management, and communication skills. I believe confidently that “my best days are ahead of me.” My desire is to pursue instructional design opportunities in writing curriculum for historical collections; returning to academic libraries; or applying my skills in the federal government, private sector, or academia.
